Review: During Hungarian revolution in 1956 kids don't exactly understand what is going on, but are happy because the schools have been closed. Fars and hopes of their parents don't reflect on their lives as long as their friends disappear, leave country or even get killed in battles after Soviets send army to terminate the "contrarevolution".
Controversial scenes:
A boy peeks through a keyhole at his parents starting to have sex.
Soon thereafter he nicks a book on human anatomy, and that evening while in the bathroom, measures the size his own genitals to the pictures in the book.
A scene where the boy (8) has a bath together with his younger sister Annamari (Eszter Kárász, age 7). Includes full nudity of the girl.
A woman doctor is giving the girl a medical examination when the girl reveals to her that her brother is concerned about the state of his genitals, so the woman has him climb up on a table and show them his penis for examination [not shown]. Includes rear nudity of the boy (with the little girl clearly seen looking at his front). The girl makes a reference to his times of arousal by saying [subtitle translation] "He's grown a bone in his willy".
A little later this same woman is having a bath, when the boy walks in and looks at her body. She invites him to put his hand into the water and touch her, which he does.
